LIGHT CHEMICAL PEELS

Perfect for photo damaged and sensitive skin, SkinCeuticals professional gel peels are designed to gradually improve the appearance and texture of your skin without the irritation or disruption of lifestyle often accompanying chemical peels.

PURE skin clinic offer two types of gel peel; one for patients with photo damaged or dry skin, and one suited for patients with oily, acneic, or sensitive skin, as well as for patients with darker complexions.

What is a Light Chemical Peel?

Light chemical peels intensively exfoliate to accelerate the cell renewal process, stimulate collagen synthesis, and improve elastin fibres the dermis, revealing a more youthful and radiant complexion. This safe, non invasive procedure delivers results, yet requires no down time.

When should you not undergo a chemical peel?

• Use of Roaccutane or any retinoic products within the last month
• Pregnant or lactating
• Open wounds, cuts, abrasions or Herpes outbreak
• Allergy to Aspirin
• Plastic surgery procedure within the last 3 – 6 months
• Allergy to any constituent of the peel (patch testing prior to a facial peel is required)

What results can you expect?

SkinCeuticals gel peels can help visibly soften fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone and texture, reduce symptoms of oiliness, and diminish the appearance of skin blemishes. Most results are that of looking healthy and refreshed.

What procedures can be used with a SkinCeuticals gel peel?

The gel peels are designed to deliver optimal results when used in a series of applications. Results may be enhanced when used with Microdermabrasion or IPL procedures. As an adjunct treatment, peels should be administered preceding Microdermabrasion or IPL.

What can you expect during and after the peel?

The entire procedure takes approximately 45 minutes. A slight stinging or burning sensation during the 3 – 5 minutes it takes for the peel to set is normal. Slight redness and skin sensitivity, as well as flaking can occur for a period of up to five days as it eliminates dead surface cells. Your skin will likely feel tighter, smoother and softer than usual.

Aftercare

Sun avoidance is essential. Do not expose the skin to UV (sun exposure or tanning beds) during the course of treatments. Daily use of a high factor, broad spectrum sun block SPF 30+ is strongly advised.

How many treatments are necessary?

A course of six to ten peels carried out on a weekly or fortnightly basis is recommended. A monthly peel will maintain the results.

Daily use of a high factor, broad spectrum sun block SPF30+ is strongly recommended.
